In observance of the International Coastal Cleanup 2026, Globalport Ozamiz Terminal Inc., actively participated in a Coastal Cleanup Activity held on September 19, 2026, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM at Maloro Beach, Barangay Maloro, Tangub City.
Carrying the theme “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,” the activity brought together participants in a collective effort to promote environmental responsibility, strengthen community involvement, and help protect our coastal and marine ecosystems.
The cleanup focused on the removal of solid waste along the shoreline while promoting awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal and maintaining clean and healthy coastal areas. Through the collective efforts of the participants, approximately 200 kilograms of solid waste were successfully collected from the coastal area.
This accomplishment highlights the positive impact of community participation and collective action. By removing waste from the shoreline, the activity helped reduce the amount of debris that could potentially reach the sea and pose risks to marine life, coastal habitats, and the surrounding environment.
The participation of GOTI reflects the company’s continuing commitment to environmental protection, sustainability, and meaningful community engagement. Initiatives such as the International Coastal Cleanup demonstrate that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and that every contribution can make a difference.
