Globalport Tacloban Terminal, Inc., together with its MSP-WeCare Team, actively participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Drive 2026 held on September 18, 2026, alongside the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Local Government Unit (LGU), various shipping lines, and other participating stakeholders.
Carrying this year’s theme, “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,” the activity supports the objectives of the UN Ocean Decade Challenge No. 6: Increase Community Resilience to Ocean Hazards. The initiative highlights the importance of collective action in protecting our oceans and coastal areas while strengthening the ability of communities to respond to environmental challenges.
Through the cleanup activity, participants worked together to remove waste and debris from coastal areas, promote proper waste management, and raise awareness of the impact of marine litter on coastal communities and ecosystems.
For GTTI, the activity reflects our continuing commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and sustainable port operations. Beyond cleaning the shoreline, the initiative serves as a reminder that protecting our seas is a shared responsibility—one that requires the active participation of businesses, government agencies, communities, and individuals.
Together, we can keep our seas clean, strengthen our communities, and build a more resilient future.
Clean Seas. Resilient Communities. Shared Responsibility.
