Globalport Davao Terminal Inc. (GDTI) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship and community development through a meaningful Mangrove Tree Planting Activity held on March 24, 2026, at the Tambongon Mangrove Site in Lasang, Davao City. The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Tambongon Fisherfolks Association and Strategic Alternative Corporation.
A total of 43 employee-volunteers participated in the activity, successfully planting 4,000 mangrove propagules. This collective effort marks a significant contribution toward protecting coastal areas, restoring marine ecosystems, and strengthening natural defenses against environmental challenges such as erosion and climate change.
Beyond its environmental impact, the initiative also supports the local community by providing livelihood opportunities. Members of the Tambongon Fisherfolks Association play a vital role in preparing the mangrove propagules, enabling them to generate income that helps sustain their families and support the education of their children.
Through this initiative, Globalport Davao Terminal Inc. continues to demonstrate that corporate responsibility goes beyond business operations. Together, we are not just planting trees—we are planting hope, resilience, and a better future for both the environment and the community.
