Globalport Matnog Terminal Inc. (GMTI) Coastal Clean-Up CSR Initiative: Protecting Our Shores for a Sustainable Future

Globalport Matnog Terminal Inc. (GMTI), as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, actively participated in a Coastal Clean-Up Drive on April 16, 2026, at Barangay Camcaman, Matnog, Sorsogon. The activity commenced at 7:00 AM and was organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Matnog through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in support of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) “Kalinisan Program”, which was launched during the March Barangay General Assembly with the theme “Nagkakaisang Barangay Tungo sa Kalinisan.”

The clean-up drive brought together various agencies and community stakeholders in a shared commitment to environmental protection and community welfare. Among the participants were the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Matnog, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Matnog, Barangay Officials, LGU Matnog MENRO, and other dedicated volunteers. Through this collective effort, coastal areas were cleared of waste and debris, helping to preserve marine life, promote public health, and maintain the natural beauty of the shoreline.

Globalport Matnog’s participation in this initiative underscores its strong commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. By supporting programs that encourage cleanliness, sustainability, and civic responsibility, GMTI continues to play a vital role in fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for present and future generations.
