Globalport Matnog Terminal Inc., as part of its continuing commitment to environmental sustainability and community development, successfully conducted a Mangrove Tree Planting Activity in Brgy. Poropandan, Matnog. A total of 5,000 mangrove propagules were planted, contributing to coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience in the area.
The activity commenced early at 5:30 AM, demonstrating the strong collaboration and shared dedication among participants. The initiative was made possible through the active participation of LGU Matnog, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Barangay Officials of Poropandan, and Cruz Sentinel. Their collective efforts highlight the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships in achieving meaningful environmental impact.
During the activity, it was also observed that previously planted mangroves in the area are growing well and thriving, indicating the effectiveness of past conservation efforts and the suitability of the site for mangrove rehabilitation. This encouraging development further strengthens Globalport Matnog’s resolve to continue supporting similar initiatives in the future.
