Job Description:
1. Implements the company health programs designed to emphasize the preventive rather than the curative aspects of medical care.
2. Conducts annual/periodic check-up of company personnel especially those involved in port operations and field work.
3. Provides medical consultations and treatments of company personnel particularly on accidents, sudden illness and minor ailments occurring at work.
4. Refers cases which cannot be handled by the company clinic to higher health facilities.
5. Provides medical health care lectures as needed.
6. Recommends acquisition of medicines and medical supplies, necessary to maintain the operation of the company clinic.
7. Issues medical certificates as needed by company personnel.
8. Initiates, develops and maintains an effective referral and follow up system to ensure that company personnel are treated by their family doctor or other private medical practitioners.
9. Performs pre-employment physical exam to determine the workers abilities to perform the essential duties of the assigned job.
10. Conduct Anti Gen Testing and / or other tests related to Covid 19 prevention and detection except RT PCR Test.
11. Give appropriate advice for healthy habits (diets, hygiene etc.) and other health advisory to promote overall health.
12. Conduct examinations to ill patients and evaluate symptoms to determine their condition.
13. Ask intuitive questions to discover causes of illness.
14. Prescribe and interpret lab test to obtain more information for underlying infections or abnormalities.
15. Prescribe medications or drugs and provide comprehensive instructions for administration.
16. Lead the Health Committee of the Company in coordination with the Administrative Manager, Safety Officer and Company Nurse.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Educational Attainment: Graduate of the Degree of Doctor of Medicine.
License and Certification: Licensed Medical Doctor in the Philippines.
Work Experience: Preferably with at least 1-2 years relevant experience in the field of Occupational Medicine.
1. Knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines under DOLE-OSH standards.
2. Excellent workplace knowledge and skills in emergency healthcare-related issues.
3. Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects an contraindications.
4. In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
