GITI Launches Livelihood Program, Building Stronger Communities

Globalport Iligan Terminal Inc. (GITI) proudly hosted its first Livelihood Program at the Terminal Management Center (TMC) on December 06, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to community empowerment and development. This initiative was made possible through a partnership with the TESDA Provincial Center Region X, providing expertise and support for the program.

The event brought together employees and community members, particularly the spouses and relatives of port workers, eager to acquire new skills for livelihood opportunities. The program aimed to equip participants with practical skills in basic handicrafts, hand and foot care services, and entrepreneurial development, essential for economic stability and financial independence.

Certified TESDA trainers led interactive sessions, ensuring hands-on training and valuable insights for all participants. The training encouraged real-life practice and active participation in skill-building activities.

This Livelihood Program emphasized self-sufficiency and showcased Globalport Iligan Terminal’s role in community development, aligning with its corporate social responsibility initiatives. By empowering individuals with valuable skills, the company is contributing to stronger, more resilient communities and the local economy.
