Vessel Operations Officer, Globalport Davao

Job Description:

The Vessel Operations Officer are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activity in area of assignment both on vessel and storage cargo handling and ensures port safety rules are adhered to. He will be also in charge in making and submitting vessel hourly progress reports after every completion of the work-shift.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Conducts work briefing for the manpower who will be detailed to work in a certain operational area with emphasis on work sequence, safety considerations and special instructions.
2.Checks and monitors that the following are properly coordinated and implemented:
a.)All vessels are docked at assigned areas.
b.)Resource allocations (manpower, equipment, and gears) are dispatched according to cargo requirements that will be handled.
3.Monitors from time to time the operational activity in area of assignment both on vessel and storage cargo handling.
4.Performs random checking of Cargo Entry/Release Paper on cargoes that are on direct delivery/entry to safeguard company revenue.
5.Submits Vessel Hourly Progress Reports to the Operations Shift Manager after every completion of the work-shift.
6.Reports and properly documents incidents, violations to company policies and other irregularities occurring in his area of responsibility.
7.Ensures all documentary requirements (Tally Sheets, Mooring Service, Incident Reports, Damage Reports and Letters of Protest) on vessel operations are signed and conformed by shipping line representatives and submitted to the Operations Shift Manager within 24 hours after vessel operation’s execution and completion.
8.Performs other functions as may be requested by superiors. 

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or any related field required, or Vocational Degree.
    • Proven experience as Vessel Operations Officer for at least 1-2 years
    • Hands-on experience Port Operations.
    • Excellent in managing people
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • PC literacy – MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Sheet and etc.

Mechanic, Globalport Davao

Job Description:

Responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks. also known as service technicians, these professionals oversee maintenance inspections, monitor inventory, assemble mechanical components, and perform repairs and PMS.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs overhauling works, repair, maintenance, adjustment, and servicing of automotive equipment.
2. Inspects automotive equipment and determine troubles/defects, construction, and other necessary corrective action.
3. Performs diagnostic tests on equipment such as pumps, transmission, differential, compressor, and engines and makes minor to major repairs.
4. Performs other tasks as may be assigned by superiors.

Qualifications:

    • Graduate of Vocational or High School 
    • At least 2 years prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
    • TESDA NC II Certificate holder, with driver’s license
    • Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment machine.
    • Flexible to work for longer hours when required.
    • Willing to work on a shifting schedule.
