On 18 September 2025 at 6:30 AM, Globalport Iligan, together with various partner institutions, actively participated in the observance of Philippine Bamboo Month with the theme “Kawayan: Kalikasan, Kabuhayan, Kaunlaran sa Kinabukasan Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
The bamboo-planting activity was held at Sitio Bolahon, Barangay Rogongon, Iligan City, and was joined by 11 participants from Globalport Iligan and other organizations including CENRO-Iligan, iCENRO-LGU, Petron, Pilmico, Aboitiz Food Corporation, and Rogongon Agricultural High School. Together, the group successfully planted 300 young bamboo seedlings along the area.
This initiative serves as a testament to the shared commitment of different sectors in harnessing bamboo’s potential—not only in protecting the environment but also in creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering national progress towards a more resilient future.
