On September 19, 2025, Globalport Ozamiz Terminal Inc. (GOTI) marked International Coastal Cleanup Day with an impactful event centered on the theme “”Clean Seas Against the Climate Crisis.”” Hosted by the DENR-CENRO, the activity drew a large number of participants, including GOTI employees and volunteers from the PPA-PMO MOZ, Philippine Coast Guard, Local Government of Baybay Triunfo, Misamis University, La Salle University, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the PNP Maritime Group. This collaborative effort underscored the shared commitment of both public and private sectors to combat marine pollution and its effects on the climate.
Beyond the coastal cleanup, the day’s initiatives showcased GOTI’s broader dedication to environmental and historical preservation. The combined efforts of the volunteers led to the collection of more than two small dump trucks of non-biodegradable waste from the coastline. In a separate but equally significant activity, GOTI joined the Philippine Coast Guard in cleaning and repainting the historic Fort Triunfo Lighthouse. These actions serve as a testament to Globalport’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and preserving key community landmarks for future generations.
