Globalport Davao Terminal Inc. Leads Successful Coastal Clean-Up in Brgy. Lasang, Davao City

On May 23, 2025, Globalport Davao Terminal Inc., in partnership with STRATEGIC ALTERNATIVE CORP (SAC), Vertex Maritime International Trading Inc., and the Tambongon Fisherfolks Association, successfully conducted a coastal clean-up at the Tambongon Mangrove Site in Barangay Lasang, Davao City.

The collaborative effort resulted in the collection of approximately 2.5 cubic meters of recyclable and residual waste, significantly contributing to the preservation of the local marine environment and the protection of the vital mangrove ecosystem.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of the participating organizations and the local community to environmental stewardship and sustainable coastal management.

Globalport Agusan Celebrates Earth Month with Successful Upland Tree Planting Activity

In celebration of Earth Month with the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” GP Agusan successfully conducted the Upland Tree Planting Activity on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the adopted site in Mt. Kasunugan, Brgy. Amontay, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. A total of 1,500 seedlings were planted, which included 1,000 Narra seedlings and 500 Acacia Mangium seedlings.

The activity was organized with participation from PPA – PMO Agusan, DENR – CENRO Nasipit, and Balangay Sentinels Football Club. Participants arrived bright and early, bringing not only their energy and teamwork but also their passion for the environment. The activity encourages everyone to join in protecting nature, reminding us that caring for the environment is a community responsibility.

“Our Power, Our Planet”: GTTI Participates in Landscape Restoration on Earth Day

Globalport Tacloban Terminal Inc. (GTTI) was honored to actively participate in the significant Tree Planting and Nurturing Activity organized by Pintakasi for Landscape Restoration Inc. This meaningful event took place on April 22, 2025, in Brgy. Salvacion, Tacloban City, held in enthusiastic observance of Earth Day. This year’s powerful theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” served as a central call to action, aiming to significantly raise environmental awareness and actively promote the adoption of sustainable practices within the community and beyond.

Demonstrating a unified commitment to ecological stewardship, the initiative brought together participants from a diverse range of non-governmental organizations, with GTTI proudly contributing to this collective effort. Each participating organization, including GTTI, was entrusted with 200 tree saplings to plant, symbolizing a tangible investment in the region’s environmental future. Through these collaborative and dedicated efforts, the overarching goal is to significantly improve environmental protection, fostering healthier and more resilient ecosystems for the benefit of future generations and underscoring the power of collective action in safeguarding our planet.

Sowing Seeds of Sustainability: GP Surigao’s Mangrove Planting Activity

We are pleased to announce the successful Mangrove Planting Activity undertaken by GP Surigao (“GSTI”) on April 12, 2025, in the coastal barangay of Day-asan, Surigao City.

This significant environmental initiative brought together a dedicated group of individuals, including enthusiastic employees from GSTI, committed workers from SAC (MSP), knowledgeable evaluators from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), and supportive representatives from Brgy. Day-asan.

Early in the morning, at 6:00 AM, the participants embarked on bancas, navigating the waterways to reach the designated planting site nestled amidst the unique landscape of floating villages.

Driven by a shared vision for a greener community and under the proactive leadership of our Port Community Services Officer (PCSO), Sonnielene Orgil, the activity proved to be a resounding success. A total of 38 participants worked diligently to plant an impressive 4,000 mangrove propagules, contributing to the vital rehabilitation and preservation of this crucial coastal ecosystem.

Protecting Our Shores: Globalport Davao and Partners Plant Thousands of Mangroves

On March 14, 2025, Globalport Davao Terminal Inc. successfully conducted a Mangrove Tree Planting activity at the Tambongon Mangrove Site in Brgy. Lasang, Davao City. This meaningful initiative was carried out in partnership with Strategic Alternative Corporation, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Tambongon Fisherfolks Association, and Barangay Tambongon Officials.

Approximately 50 participants from various organizations came together to plant 3,160 mangrove propagules as part of our commitment to environmental preservation and coastal protection. The event highlighted the importance of mangroves in maintaining marine biodiversity, preventing coastal erosion, and supporting local communities.

Growing Together: Globalport Zamboanga’s Green Initiative

On February 21, 2025, Globalport Zamboanga Terminal Inc. and the CENRO (Community Environment and Natural Resources Office) collaborated on a successful mangrove planting activity in Talabaan, Zamboanga City.        

The team planted 5,000 mangrove propagules, contributing significantly to the restoration of the area’s natural resources and environment.This initiative underscores the commitment of both organizations to sustainable practices and environmental conservation. The planting of mangroves not only helps to protect coastlines from erosion and storms but also provides vital habitats for diverse marine life.

Globalport Bohol Terminal Inc., 5th Mangrove Tree Planting Activity

Globalport Bohol Terminal Inc. (GBTI) conducted its 5th Mangrove Tree Planting Activity on February 12, 2025. With the coordination of the DENR/CENRO BOHOL personnel, it was held at the Brgy. Basac, Loon Bohol, which is the designated site for environmental activities. The activity aimed to promote environmental protection and awareness and conservation among the participants and the local community. Planting mangroves can reduce shoreline erosion and can protect coastal communities against coastal flooding, high winds, and waves. The participants planted Three Thousand Five Hundred (3500) propagules and Five Hundred (500) seedlings of Bongalong tree.

Together for the Coast: Mangrove Planting and Community Clean-Up Journey

Globalport Ozamiz Terminal Inc. conducted its first CSR activity of the year on January 31, 2025, in celebration of Zero Waste Month and World Wetlands Day 2025. In partnership with DENR-CENRO and other community stakeholders, the event took place at Marcelo Fertilizer in Iligan City, where participants planted mangrove propagules and engaged in a coastal cleanup drive. It was a valuable experience, especially for those planting mangroves for the first time. The morning was filled with learning, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose as they collaborated to make a positive impact on the environment.                                                                         

Team Globalport planted 150 propagules and generously donated 2,000 propagules to CENRO Iligan, which will be nurtured in their nursery to reach maturity for planting. The event was a collective effort involving environmental champions, all working towards a common goal of protecting and preserving the environment for future generations.

Globalport Zamboanga Terminals Inc. Leads Mangrove Planting in Zamboanga City

Globalport Zamboanga Terminal Inc. (GZTI) spearheaded a mangrove planting activity in Talabaan, Zamboanga City on November 22, 2024, aimed to strengthening efforts in environmental conservation and coastal protection.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including personnel from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). Through their collective effort and dedication, a total of 10,000 mangrove propagules were successfully planted, reinforcing the importance of mangroves in maintaining coastal ecosystems, preventing erosion, and supporting biodiversity.

This initiative underscores Globalport Zamboanga’s commitment to sustainability and the protection of the environment, contributing to the long-term health of the region’s coastal areas.

Globalport Agusan Leads Successful Coastal Clean-Up Drive at the Port of Nasipit

Globalport Agusan Terminal Inc. (GATI) organized and successfully executed a Coastal/Port Clean-up Activity on September 30, 2024. Marking the culmination of Maritime Week and the International Coastal Cleanup Celebration. The clean-up initiative took place at the Southside Area near Conventional Berth 1 (C1) at the Port of Nasipit.

A diverse group of key stakeholders joined hands for the event, including representatives from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) – PMO Agusan, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – CENRO, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Richland United Solutions Inc. (RUSI), the Talisay-Camagong Porters Association, and other community members. Together, they successfully collected 45 sacks of waste, amounting to approximately 370 kg of trash, highlighting the collective effort to clean and protect the coastal and port areas.

This collaborative activity not only reflects Globalport Agusan’s dedication to environmental protection but also reinforces the importance of responsible waste disposal practices. The event raised awareness among port workers, users, and local communities about the detrimental effects of improper waste disposal on marine ecosystems and the environment.
