Globalport Matnog

Matnog seaport serves as the inter-island passenger and vehicle transportation port between Matnog town, Sorsogon and its surrounding areas. It is located in the city with just 240 meters distance from the city center. Globalport Terminals Inc. began operating the port in February 2022, currently offering RORO and passenger terminal services to the public.

Services

Ro-Ro stands for ROLL-ON/ROLL-OFF and means that specially designed ships for carrying wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, and railroad cars can drive on and off of the ship on their own wheels through a vehicle platform. Elsewhere in the shipping industry, cargo is normally measured by metric tonnes, but RoRo cargo is typically measured in lanes in meters (LIMs). Alongside this civilian usage, RoRo vessels are also utilized and incorporated in the naval sector to transport important naval freight.

In the maritime industry, passenger terminal is a building in a port or on a dock where passengers board and disembark from passenger ships such as cruise ships and ferries.
