Globalport Tacloban Terminal Inc. was honored as an Environmental Steward of the Province during the 162nd Founding Anniversary of Sta. Rita, Samar, on January 5, 2026.
The award recognizes the company’s significant efforts to protect the environment throughout 2025. Globalport earned this distinction primarily through its mangrove restoration project in Barangay Dampigan, where the team successfully planted 6,800 mangrove propagules.
These mangroves serve as a vital natural defense for the coastline, helping to prevent erosion and protecting the community from storm surges. The initiative also supports local biodiversity by providing a healthy habitat for marine life.
