On 18 September 2025 at 6:30 AM, Globalport Iligan, together with various partner institutions, actively participated in the observance of Philippine Bamboo Month with the theme “Kawayan: Kalikasan, Kabuhayan, Kaunlaran sa Kinabukasan Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

The bamboo-planting activity was held at Sitio Bolahon, Barangay Rogongon, Iligan City, and was joined by 11 participants from Globalport Iligan and other organizations including CENRO-Iligan, iCENRO-LGU, Petron, Pilmico, Aboitiz Food Corporation, and Rogongon Agricultural High School. Together, the group successfully planted 300 young bamboo seedlings along the area.

This initiative serves as a testament to the shared commitment of different sectors in harnessing bamboo’s potential—not only in protecting the environment but also in creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering national progress towards a more resilient future.

In partnership with the Philippine Ports Authority PMO-MOZ, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP Maritime Police, Philippine Statistics Authority, La Salle University, and Misamis University, and under the leadership of DENR-CENRO, the group planted 300 young bamboo seedlings along the riverbank of Brgy. Sedac, Tudela, Misamis Occidental.

This initiative highlights bamboo’s role as a sustainable resource—helping protect the environment, strengthen community livelihoods, and support national progress.

On September 10, 2025, at 6:00 AM, our team, in collaboration with the Philippine Ports Authority, several shipping lines, and partner organizations, successfully planted 1,000 mangrove propagules. The project aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of our coastal ecosystems and contribute directly to their restoration and conservation. By working together, we can make a tangible difference in protecting our natural environment for future generations.
