BOHOL, Philippines – In a strong display of environmental commitment, Globalport Bohol Terminal Inc. recently conducted a coastal cleanup at the beautiful Bayanihan Beach in Barangay Dao, Dauis. The initiative, held in partnership with local community leaders, aimed to promote environmental awareness and community involvement in preserving our precious coastal areas.

The cleanup was a collaborative effort, with Globalport Bohol employees working alongside community members. The event was honored by the presence of Brgy. Kagawad Ma’am Phoebe Micutuan and Ma’am Ana Bongalos, who showed their unwavering support for the cause. Their participation highlighted the importance of a unified approach to environmental preservation, where local government and private sectors come together for a common good.

This activity underscores Globalport’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, focusing on creating a positive impact on the communities it serves. By actively engaging in such initiatives, the company not only helps maintain the cleanliness of our shores but also inspires others to become stewards of our environment.

On July 25, 2025, Globalport Agusan Terminal Inc. employees took part in a Mangrove Planting and Coastal Cleanup in San Roque, Brgy. Punta, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. The event was a collaborative effort with the DENR CENRO Nasipit, bringing together participants from DENR Caraga, DENR PENRO, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and the Nasipit Local Government Unit (LGU).

Led by Pollution Control and Safety Officer (PCSO) James Constantino, 25 Globalport employees dedicated their time to planting 100 Piapi Mangrove (Avicennia Marina) seedlings and cleaning the coastal area.

In recognition of their efforts, Globalport Agusan received a certificate from DENR CENRO Nasipit, acknowledging the company as an active partner in the agency’s commitment to environmental sustainability across the Caraga region. The initiative underscored the importance of community care and environmental responsibility, showcasing Globalport’s dedication to protecting the local environment.

Globalport Tacloban successfully held its inaugural mangrove planting activity on July 4, 2025, in Barangay Dampigan, Sta. Rita, Samar. The event drew a diverse group of over 3,500 dedicated volunteers, including representatives from the Municipality of Sta. Rita led by Mayor Ms. Tiu, local Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from both Samar and Leyte, and members of the Philippine Army from Tacloban and Samar. The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), MSP-SAC, MENRO, and Globalport Tacloban employees also participated, united under the theme “Just Plant a Tree Today, and Save Sta. Rita Tomorrow.”

This initiative served as a powerful reminder of how each mangrove planted significantly protects the community and its neighboring towns from future calamities. Residents of Barangay Dampigan expressed their sincere gratitude for being chosen as the site for this important environmental project, recognizing its long-term benefits. The event highlighted Globalport’s commitment to giving back to the community by investing resources, time, and effort into meaningful environmental protection efforts.

The volunteers’ resilience and collective effort resulted in a successful planting of 3,500 propagules, marking a vital step toward safeguarding the local environment. 

Zamboanga City, Philippines – June 25, 2025 – In a vibrant display of their commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, the GZTI team actively participated in the ‘Arbor Day na Ciudad de Zamboanga’ tree-planting initiative. This impactful program, spearheaded by the City Government and led by City Mayor Khymer Olaso, saw GZTI joining hands with local authorities and fellow citizens to foster a greener, more sustainable future for Zamboanga.

The GZTI team’s involvement underscores their dedication to corporate social responsibility, recognizing the vital role that environmental conservation plays in the well-being of the community. By contributing to the city-wide tree-planting efforts, GZTI not only helped enhance Zamboanga’s natural beauty but also supported crucial initiatives aimed at combating climate change and promoting biodiversity. This collaborative effort exemplifies the power of partnership between the private sector and local government in driving positive environmental change. 

In the early morning of June 13, 2025, Globalport Tacloban Terminal Inc. (GTTI) held a Coastal Clean-Up Drive as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility at Barangay 68, Anibong District, Tacloban City, Leyte. The clean-up was conducted along the coastline where the remnants of the Eva Jocelyn vessel, a solemn reminder of the devastation brought by Typhoon Yolanda, still stand.

GTTI volunteers, together with the Barangay Captain and his staff, as well as representatives from Vertex Maritime, joined efforts to remove waste and debris from the shoreline and surrounding areas of the barangay. This initiative aims to preserve the cleanliness of the environment and promote a healthy coastline, which is essential for environmental protection and long-term sustainability. It also plays a key role in safeguarding the local ecosystem against environmental hazards.

Approximately 25 kilograms of garbage were collected during this single activity, marking a meaningful step towards a cleaner and more resilient coastal community.
