Globalport Surigao Leads Coastal Clean-Up for International Clean-Up Day

Globalport Surigao Terminal Inc. (GSTI) successfully organized and led a Coastal Cleanup Activity in Brgy. Diaz, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte on September 21, 2024, to commemorate International Coastal Clean-up Day. This initiative was part of a global movement to protect coastal environments from pollution. Under the guidance of the Project Lead, a dedicated group of volunteers, including GSTI employees, MSP workers, Barangay representatives, and GSTI interns, collaborated to clean up the local coastline. The team collected and properly disposed of 26 kg of residual waste, 1.20 kg of biodegradable waste, and 32 kg of recyclable materials, contributing to the cleanliness and sustainability of the area.

Simultaneously, another group of GSTI employees, MSP workers, porters, and other port stakeholders participated in a Coastal Clean-up at the Port of Surigao City initiated by PPA PMO. This additional activity showcased the collective commitment to protecting the region’s coastal ecosystems.
